HI!
Glad everyone seems to be doing good. That's awesome that spring break is coming up! We have a lot of spring breakers here keeping us busy. When Heen was here she made sure to tell me that the fam is going to San Fran without me. Is this true? I was like sweeeeet. Temple Square is the best place to be all the time though so I aint even mad. Adventures of Sister Erin Celeste Leavitt while serving in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission

Hallo,
This week on Temple Square was good, the flowers and the antis are blooming wonderfully. There are a lot more people coming around since the weather is nice and the anitis are coming out of their caves via chat, calls, square, everywhere! It's kinda fun I just feel bad for my companion poor girl has a tender heart about it. On Thursdays they all gather in large groups out side the gates and shout their nonsense so I am pumped that I have Thursday P-day because sometimes I get fired up about it and I don't want to get myself in trouble. There is this recent convert who just got baptized in October and some sisters from Temple Square taught him his name is David AKA Miracle David and he is one of the most well versed scriptorians ever. He grew up Jewish so he knows like Hebrew and Arabic and who knows what else and he's like the anti police he just gets in the middle of the circles and starts handing out home made cookies to them its one of the best things I have ever seen hahah. He LOVES antis. He said that it is another witness to him that this church is true because there would not be such opposition if the church was not true. "For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things"-2 Nephi 2:11.
So thats the weekly report.
I love and miss you all!

Hi! Yes it has been forever it seems like since my last pday! My week has been pretty good just getting into the swing of things with the new transfer. Sister Bon and I are getting along great. There is a lot more responsibility this transfer but it is helping me grow in my mission for sure. She reminds me a lot of how I was at the beginning of my mission: could not get up in the morning & hated/didnt know how to small talk with people! She is a year younger than me and she went to school in Long Beach studying music before her mission. She is a really amazing singer/song writer. I read all the songs she wrote and they are really good. We are learning a lot together and working really hard every day. That's awesome that Aust is almost done with his mission papers, that's insane!! I am so happy for him & of course I will keep him in my prayers. Well, I promised my companion we would go take a picture in front of East High which is really close so we are going to go do that but I am going to get back on again later tonight at write more. Mucho love and talk to you later!
Hey, I'm back! Mom, that's so cool that you are going to go out with the missionaries! Have you ever done it before? I can't wait to have experiences like that with members outbound. Let me know how it goes :) So like I said, this week was good but not a whole lot to report on. We have been blessed with many investigators from around the world that are progressing but just not as quickly as they could or as quickly as we would like them to :) President Poulsen has encouraged us to focus on the elect or those who are prepared for the gospel at this time and are keeping commitments so that is what we are trying to do. Last time we talked to Alain he was pretty much in the same boat as he has been but we will keep praying for him! He has a lot of hope that is really inspiring. Here is a part from his emails this week:
I regret the fact that all the church branches in my city are very far from my house , which needs transport to and fro , i cant afford that and its having a real impact on my faith right now ,i have missed last 3 Sunday church services . Each time its getting to week end i try to save something small for transportation , there is always another problem which comes up before Sunday that makes me use the money or i dont even get the posibility to save enough . I will continue reading the Book of Mormon , i belive the church is true and i hope you all put me in your hearts and always pray for me .
We are so blessed to live in a place where the gospel is so readily available. Because we have been given this blessing, I feel it is our responsibility to do what we can for those who are not as fortunate! Prayers are the most powerful thing we can do for others!I regret the fact that all the church branches in my city are very far from my house , which needs transport to and fro , i cant afford that and its having a real impact on my faith right now ,i have missed last 3 Sunday church services . Wow, I can't believe Nat is home! I am pretty sure I went to her farewell talk like last month? I feel like time every where else freezes when I am on my mission but I guess that is not the case.
The church is true wahoo wahoo!

Hello! Well I am back to Thursday Pday and I am not sure how I feel about it! Monday Pday is the best for sure but thats okay. These past couple days have been really crazy with so much change and adjusting going on in the mission. Sister Cardus left on Tuesday night and that was so sad! I am going to miss her but she is staying here in Utah an extra week with a family friend and she said she is going to come back to meet her "granddaughter" so hopefully I get to see her again. The Sister I am training is wonderful. Her name is Sister Bon from California. She is 20 years old and she is basically a professional singer. Yesterday we were in the trainer/trainee meeting for like 5 hours while the APs and President were getting all inspired on who should go with who. When the time finally came to announcement I think I was more nervous this time being a trainer then I was as a new missionary. Thankfully Sister Bon was the first to go up and our companionship was announced first so that was over with fast. It was incredible how much love I had for this Sister automatically. It gave me a small glimpse of the love that God has for each one of his children! I am excited to learn and grow from her this transfer and continue in the Lords work!
I love you. I trust you. All in.This is an ugly post-nap pic but this is my trainee! Isn't she cute?! |

Buenos Dias,
It has been a great last week with Hermana Yunda! We were able to see many miracles this transfer and meet our baptismal goal. I can't believe that all three of my previous companions will be leaving this Wednesday. Sister Cardoot and Garcia are going home and Sister Yunda is going out bound :( Every time I have seen Cardoot for the last week I cry. I am going to miss her so much. She was such an awesome trainer and I look up to her so much especially now since I recently found out on Friday that I will be training a new Sister! Yaaayy! I am feeling very humbled and inadequate but I am also very excited. I know it will be a great transfer with and only with the Lords help. Transfer conference was this morning and I also found out that I am moving back to my previous zone of South 2 so that means Thursday Pday & Guest services again. I'm stoked to be in Guest Services again but I am even more stoked to not be supply coordinator. It was how you say....the worst? Haha, nahh it wasn't so bad, I guess. I am also moving for the first time to a new apartment complex. Moving is a pain but I am happy to depart from the bed bug apt so its a lose/win situation. I might miss the bed bugs a little bit honestly. I have grown rather found of them over the last 6 months. Hurrah for double p-day this week though.
Last Wednesday we received a special Ipad training from President Clark from the Quorum of the Seventy. That guy is a spiritual giant for sure. The meeting was four hours long and by the end of it I felt like I got hit by a train because I was so spiritually exhausted. He is traveling to 86 missions to do similar meetings for missions using technology. He said that we will never be an "Ipad mission" that we will always be a "Preach My Gospel Mission." The Ipads are just tools to help further the work. Like the Liahona, the tool is not going to work if we do not have the proper faith. Facebook and Skype are going to be especially helpful in this mission as our investigators are from all over the world and the phone lines are a bit sketch. We will have our area books and planners on there digitally with us at all times which is great. We haven't recieved the Ipads yet but I think we will soon. For now we are clearing up our Facebooks and making them missionary approved I guess and preparing ourselves to have them.
I wanted to send you a little piece of what my African investigator emailed me last week:
I have been reading the book of mormom and there are a few things that i dont understand clearly ,i am getting more interested in the teachings of the church of latter days saints but i am not close to any elder member to guide me and explain the doctrines to me . I dream of becoming an elder , pastor or missionary of the church of latter days saints but i see it very difficult to realise this because of my location and condition .I know God can use you to change my life and that of my family , i continue to put my problems in prayers and i know he will see me through . Best regard, Alain

Notice how he only wished me a best regard, singular, not plural. Seriously though this guy really touches my heart. It makes me think how incredibly blessed I am for the upbringing and life I have been given. If I could described my mission so far in one word it would be "humbling." I have really grown to appreciate my surroundings (not all the time AKA supply coordinator complaint) but I am getting better! Thank goodness for the atonement. Nothing has made me happier on my mission than learning to count my blessings and the tender mercies of the Lord. Please keep Alain in your prayers as he desires to be baptized but does not have a proper situation that allows it. "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God"-D&C 18:10.
I love and miss you all. Prayers for me training that I won't ruin this poor Sisters life.
