Buenos Dias,
It was so great hearing from yall on Sunday! It really made my week/life. It also made me realize that not a whole lot has changed.

Let's see I'm not sure what to report on this week. Oh the other day we took a man from Ghana on a tour. He was so awesome he was like a rich news reporter and he referred! He offered to fly us to Ghana after our missions he said it wouldn't be a problem so I'm excited for that one. It's always been my dream to go to Ghana.😁 I love teaching people from Africa they are so prepared and chill! I was reading on church news the other day and 5 new countries opened up for missionary work! I died I was so happy. It's like Turkestan, ubekistan, turkey, and blah two others.  They are already calling peeps to go there. Maybe you will go there aust. The work is hastening and it's amazing. Once China opens I'm going to lose it.

Our investigators are doing really well....but not really. We are focusing on trying to find more of the Lords elect.

We are teaching a ton of less actives though and that has been really rewarding. It has really helped me to reflect back on my own testimony and wonder why I am even a member of this church. I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon that confirms to me of the truth of this gospel every day as I read it. I read an incredible talk the other day and I am sharing it with everyone I know cause it changed my life it's called "What is the Blueprint for Christ's Church"  by Tad R Callister. READ IT, STUDY IT, USE IT, BREATH IT. It has helped me so much on the square and on chats with people and they're crazy questions. That reminds me he other day a couple asked us if we had our own language. I was like naw lady...we don't.

All is well here. That's all folks.

Love you dearly,
Sister Leavitt ❤️

Hey Hey!
I feel like this email will be a shortie because I will be talking to you in 2 days!!! WOOT WOOT.
This week was just as swell as the others. The square is picking up for summer and it feels like there are more Asians here then there are at Disneyland. Chinese motor-coach tours are everywhere and on the days that I wear makeup and have my hair down I am famous!! A lot of the time I feel like I am not even in this country. Especially when I am down in the kitchen and I look at the things that sisters are putting into there mouths + all the smells + all the languages. I was sitting next to a sister eating chicken feet yesterday and I was scared.

We have been meeting a ton of less actives and members in need of help on the square lately. We have been getting their information and then we teach them here and it has been so incredible. One less active in particular named Eric we have been teaching for a couple weeks. He has been a member his whole life but recently went through a really tough divorce and has never been inside the Temple. We took him to the Temple model here yesterday and explained the ordinances that happen there. The spirit was so strong and he was crying a lot. Afterwards we set a goal for him to go inside the Temple one year from now. He said he wants sister Bon and I to be there when he does. It was really special and I am looking forward to that day.
Do you remember Alain from Africa? Well I finally got a hold of him last week. He explained that he has been going through a lot of trials the biggest one being that his house burned down and he lost every thing. He still has so much faith despite everything. He is in a pretty bad situation right now so please keep him in your prayers as he still desires to meet with missionaries and be baptized so he can be a missionary himself.

I have never had a problem with sleeping, and sleeping a lot and you all know that. But I am to that point in my mission where all I dream about is missionary work too. Ill just be contacting people all night long in my sleep and then I wake up exhausted. It is so backwards. On Sunday I had a dream about key indicators, okay. It was weird. Some sisters suggested trying melatonin so I am going to give that a shot.
Ill talk to you in like 36 hours or so. Love you all.
hasta luego,
Sister Leavitt♥

It was a perfect Mother's Day!

HALLO,
Sounds like everyone is doing amazing and I am soooo happy for Aust! I think I am telling everyone I know this great news. That would be sweet if the call came like this week then you can open it when I skype next sunday! My guess is Brazil or somewhere back east or maybe utah lol. I am so upset because it is going to be so hard to find out where he goes through email thats a huge bummer right there. On the bright side I can skype yall though. Thats so impressive that mom and leese have been going without sugar. I think I tried that once and lasted like 20 minutes. I thought I would try being a vegetarian once too and that lasted about an hour.
This week has been great! We have been teaching Trina (the welfare square miracle) and she went to church on sunday. She wants to get baptized asap but unfortunately she is on parole so we have to wait until that is done :( She will just be super prepared for when the time does come. The local missionaries are awesome and are helping her out a ton and we are too :) Robin went MIA this week so we are not sure about him. We are also teaching another guy named Thomas who came on chat a couple weeks ago claiming that the priesthood healed his broken leg and that he can now kick through walls. He seemed really sketch and first but apparently he is legit because we set him up with the local missionaries and committed to be baptized on May 16th. People are funny. I was on exchanges with my Zone leader, Sister Ryan from Australia, on Sunday and we called Lisa (the lady who just got baptized) and of course this was like the craziest call we have had with her and my district leader was there. She was swearing like a sailor and stuff cause this lady at church told her she was short or something. Luckily Sister Ryan was just laughing. I was biting my nails like crazy in that moment I was just like "Are you serious right now Lisa? CAN YOU NOT." Yeah the people I have taught my whole mission just crack me up. I seem to attract the crazies and I love it.
This week I hit my 8 month mark. That's all I have to say about that.
So I have been studying the second coming this week more than I have studied anything in my life probably and it is blowing my mind. I know that the Lords work is hastening for a reason and it is a blessing to be apart of it. I love and miss you all and really look forward to virtually seeing your beautiful faces soon.
much love,
Sister Leavitt♥

Hi!!
I am glad you liked the song! My companion is super talented for sure. I can't tell you how many times I hear "I love it!" every day from the sisters. You should put it on Facebook and then she will become super famous.
But woow this was a week of miracles! First off Lisa finally got baptized!! We were not able to skype it though so that was a bummer. She did send us pictures though and we are so excited for her. This is Sister Bons first baptism so it's really special.
So, yesterday something crazy happened. We were covering for Welfare Square which I was really happy about because I love that place. Sister Bon and I were just sitting in the visitors center next to the storehouse waiting for the next tour to come when some lady in her 30's comes in and says, "Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to go but I have been studying this church for months and I know it is true. I want to get baptized. Can you help me do that?" I about died and went to heaven in that moment. I was like "uh uhh uhhh yeah we can help you uhh with that uhhh I am missionary." I forgot how to speak English or who I even was. We got her information and are already in touch with the Elders in her ward. We are meeting with her tomorrow at Temple Square and I know she said some other stuff about herself but I don't remember cause I was so in shock. We plan on putting her on date tomorrow. K thanks Heavenly Father, I know I probably don't deserve this but thanks! :0 It. Was. Cray.
Alsooo, we talked to a man named Robin yesterday on the phone. He is a guy that Sister Bon and I met in the Assembly Hall on Sunday. Actually, she was the one who contacted him and got his information so go Bon! But anyways we called him to follow up with an invitation we gave him to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know that it is true. So we asked him and he said that God told him the church was true when he was at Temple Square and that he had so many good feelings from God about this religion. He talked to his wife about it too and he said that she believes it is true too. We invited them both to be baptized on May 23rd and they accepted. So...yup, yesterday was a pretty great day. God is good!

We have been getting a lot of new investigators and teaching opportunity thanks to this eternal square time. I actually like it though. We still have not met the unrealistic standard of seven tours a day but we are working on it. I also announced for the first time like you saw in the pictures! I was so proud of myself. I finally got the courage to sign up! It was fun. We had a big tour afterwards. Probs cause I'm so charming.
Hey did you know we will be talking again in like two weeks? WOWOWOW time flies. Christmas feels like last month.

I'm so happy for Aust! Maybe he will get called to a Salt Lake mission and we can serve together ;) I love you all. Thanks for da love & support. Ya'll are amazing!

toodles,
Sister Leavitt ♥

I finally got brave enough to do the tour announcing after the spoken
word! First time!

Lisa finally got baptized! She's so tiny! :)

DEAR MOM and everyone else,
This week was cool but my mind is blanking on what to write about.
It was transfer week and thats always pretty crazy. On Monday we had transfer Conference and I found out that I get another beautiful transfer with Baby Bon. YEAHHA! (pretty much expected that though) We switched zones and Pdays so we are not in Guest Services anymore and we actually have no assignment. This is my first transfer with no assignment so far so that means we have like eternal square time. Woof. We are making the best out of it though :) The standard of excellence that President expects is 7 tours a day and I think this eternal square time will finally permit that. Lets just say my mouth is always real dry from talking so much. Its cool though cause each experience is different. We have met quite a few less actives through tours recently who come back like once a week and we teach them so thats fun.
Soo there was a blizzard on Wednesday and it destroyed the flowers on Temple Square so thanks a lot mother nature.

Lisa didn't get baptized today but she FOR SURE is next friday and we are FOR SURE going to skype it. We are so happy for her she has grown so much in such a short amount of time. It is incredible to see the gospel change lives.

Thats all for this week I think. I am able to take a lot more pictures now because #ipads. I love you family and can't wait to see you again, except yeah I can wait.
Peace and blessins,
Sister Leavitt ♥

Thursday, April 9, 2015

Hey y'all,
I hope you all enjoyed general conference as much as I did. It's definitely a really special time to be at temple square. We talked to a lot of members and we honestly don't get to do that very often. I know that everyone thinks only members come here. That is so false. We talked to a ton of non members as well. We just looked for the people not wearing church clothes. Boom bang.

On Friday night sister Bon and I were in the tabernacle and we were talking to a lady named Heidi and her son Morris. They are non members and they are from Germany. We explained to them that they are visiting temple square at a special time and invited them to attend conference the next morning. They accepted and we met them saturday morning and stood in the stand by line with them for about a half hour and gave the whole first lesson. They weren't able to get into the conference center but they watched it in the tab and we met up with them afterwards. They said they were really impressed and loved the emphasis on family. We got their information and are hoping to meet with them on Saturday because they are leaving back to Germany on Sunday. CONFERENCE MIRACLES ARE REAL. I didn't see that many people I knew this conference either which was also a miracle.

Lisa isn't planning on getting baptized this weekend cause her close friend is going out of town and she said she won't be baptized without her there so she's planning for next Friday the 17th. It was kinda sad to hear that but I know it's all in the Lords timing. We have been blessed with good investigators this transfer and I have faith that we will get a baptism! Yes, this is the last week of the transfer. The sisters found out if they were going outbound on Monday and sister Sughroue is going to Virginia and my beloved sister Rajah is going to Montana! I will miss them but I think next transfer after I train it will be my time to go :)

We had sleep in day on Monday and then we all deep cleaned our apartment. It reminded me of the days of Dottie Adams and the North Shore Inn. Yikies. Also, we had some roommate bonding time during a hymn jam sesh. Sister Bon happens to be an amazing ukulele player.  Our African roommate sister Mere was doing a Broadway version of Master the tempest is raging and we were dying laughing. Sister Bon wrote an epic song about me. I will record it and send it next week. She is just the cutest thing and SO TALENTED!

Looks like you're having a blasty in San Francisco. It's okay I'm not jealous :D

Love your fave missionary,

Sister Leavitt

Happy Easter!

This guy was like "free hugs!" And I was like "hold up bro, I'm a missionary"

Heidi and Morris from Germany are just one example of a conference miracle!

You won't understand how great this is, but this is Elder Moreno from the district, pretty much a missionary celeb!

HI!
This week was swell. Womens Conference was great right? Yes, I got to go this time and it was amazing. I feel so lucky to walk across the street and hear the leaders of our church and an apostle of God speak, like what? That does not happen. I really liked the focus on families as well. I told Sister Bon at the beginning of the transfer that my 2 least favorite hymns are "Love at Home" and "Let Us Oft Speak Kind Words To Eachother" because mom would sing those when we were fighting in the house and when MoTab did a medley of those 2 songs we were laughing pretty good. I was just shaking my head, haha. We are so excited for conference! We had a training on it this morning and it really is one of the best times to be a T2 missionary. We are really focusing on uplifting the members. 100,000 people are traveling here this weekend to hear the words of the prophet and I will walk across the street. WAHOO!

Maybe a month ago, I was at Music and the Spoken Word with Sister Yunda. We were sitting up on the balcony in the tabernacle. Someone sitting next to us pointed out that Thomas S. Monson was there sitting all discreetly to the side of the choir. He was under the balcony in a really comfy looking chair where not many people could see. I could just see him perfectly and I got so overwhelmed with the spirit all of a sudden and I just started to cry! I received an undeniable confirmation that he was the Prophet of God. I just sat there and cried for a minute and Sister Yunda was real concerned. I was just thinking how members of the church all over the world sustain the prophet and have full faith and trust in him but will never see him in person their entire lives and he was just sitting not even 100 yards in front of me. I feel so very blessed. The special guest performers were to the side and they could see him. I saw him give them a salute as they walked on to perform. Our prophet is so cool guys. Get excited to hear from him this weekend. I am going to the Sunday morning sesh so look for me :)

We did in fact get iPads on Sunday so that has been kinda weird honestly. We haven't been approved to start using Facebook or Skype or really anything so I don't really see the point but I like them to take notes on a lot better than writing so that is the only plus I have seen so far. The camera is nice too, I guess. It will be so great when we can start skyping our investigators! I will die with joy when that happens.
Everything is good with Sister BonBon and I. We have 2 investigators on date for the 11th and we are really excited for that. One is named Lisa from England and the other one is Tim who I have been teaching since my first transfer and has slowly stopped smoking so we hope he can hold off until his baptismal date then we are telling him it will get easier when he gets the Holy Ghost. Sister Bon passed off on Tuesday and I was such a proud momma. Mainly because we get a free meal at the Lion House because of it, haha!

Thanks so much for the package! Holy mackerel it was huge but not too heavy to carry home so thanks! We loved it and I just assumed that the other basket was for S. Bon cause there was no card. The bunny masks are wonderful so thanks :)

Have fun in San Fran ya turds.

Much love,
Sister Leavitt ♥
